On Columbus Day Weekend, me and a few of my friends (Leslie, Vanessa, Joyce, Louise) took a weekend trip to Bethesda, Maryland & Washington, D.C.
Here’s a recap!
After the four hour long drive from New York (yes, I drove all the way to Maryland myself) we finally made it to Bethesda! What a beautiful little town. Here’s a photo of their town square at night – isn’t it so lovely?
The next day we strolled around Georgetown, grabbed what my friend Javee says are “the best cupcakes in DC” from Baked & Wired, received a tour of Catholic University from my friend Victor, visited the Basilica of National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, grabbed dessert at Kramerbooks & Afterwords Cafe, walked around Pennsylvania Avenue, and hopped around the National Mall at night.
The next morning, we brunched in Bethesda at the American Tap Room, went to Church, got dessert at this delicious gelato place Dolcezza Gelato (thanks for the recommendation, Jav!) and dropped by Annapolis on the way home and ate at Buddy’s Crabs & Ribs to get some of the famous Maryland crabs.
Overall, it was a much needed getaway from the city. New York is great, but sometimes you need to step away from it all to be able to breathe (literally).
