As some of you guys know, I’ve been traveling this past summer. The struggle with packing is that you can only fit so much in your bag so your usual beauty routine may not make the cut in a small carry-on. Besides the lack of space, you may not want to bring a whole lot of liquids due to the TSA’s travel restrictions. If you’re like me, you have different makeup palettes for different occasions, a variety of liquid makeup, and lots of lipstick, red lipstick to be exact.
While it was difficult, I managed to streamline my beauty routine to just the basics – it fit in one small makeup bag. Well, the brushes were in a different bag, but does it really matter? I was able to fit all my makeup in a small bag and STILL had room. That’s an accomplishment in itself, right?
Anyway, now I’ll take you through my Beauty Essentials for Travel.

- Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream

When it comes to travel, I like to go more natural which is why I opted to bring only my Naked 2 Basics, eyeliners, and mascara. When I’m out and about in a new city, I don’t want to spend a great chunk of my day applying and reapplying makeup so I go for minimal makeup. Sometimes I even skip the BB cream and contour and go straight for eyeliner in the interest of time and because I don’t need to wear a ton of makeup.
Think about it. Why would you put BB cream and contour when you’re going to be at the beach or sweating in line for a roller coaster? It’ll just make your face feel gross and maybe even start a new breakout which no one wants. Traveling to your destination will gladly do that already and you don’t want to irritate your skin in the warm weather.
Even though I love a good contour, I don’t want to get up earlier just to do my makeup. I’d rather relish in that extra 15 minutes of sleep so I could be energized for the adventure. However, when the occasion calls, I do step up my makeup game when I’m going out, taking in a show, or having a nice dinner on vacation, but if it’s just walking around and exploring, I’ll keep it to a minimum.
While these products are just my beauty essentials for travel, it doesn’t necessarily mean these are yours, too. Maybe you prefer to have more lipstick or eyeshadow and maybe you’re not restricted to a small suitcase. Everyone’s different. I just wanted to share some of my essentials with you guys and hope to help some of you when you’re trying to pack for your next adventure. I hope you guys found this helpful and definitely let me know what your travel essentials are, I would love to read them!
