Marian @ The #GirlbossRally

in the city

Not only did I have a wonderful mini solo vacation last weekend, but I got to attend the inaugural #GirlbossRally put together by the New York Times’ bestselling author and head girl boss, Sophia Amoruso.  To say that this conference left me inspired would be a little bit of a understatement.

Besides having the most wonderful time in one of my favorite cities, the reason I came to LA for the weekend was for the #GirlbossRally.  As a fan of the podcast, the opportunity to network and meet so many inspiring women was one that I couldn’t resist.  I learned so much and felt so inspired throughout the entire conference.

I heard inspiring quotes from Instagram CEO & Co-Founder Kevin Systrom, got some great advice from the women who started companies like Brit & Co, True & Co, and ClassPass, and honed my vision and mission in life.  Below I’ve listed some of my favorite quotes that really resonated with me.

Don’t compare your hustle to someone else’s highlight reel. – Sophia Amoruso, Founder of NastyGal & New York Times bestselling author

In order to get the highlights, you have to do the hustle. – Kevin Systrom, Instagram CEO & Co-Founder

Obstacles are detours in the right direction. – Gabby Bernstein, motivational speaker & New York Times bestselling author

The day was filled with great talks, but it was the women who I met along the way that made my experience wonderful.

I met women who own their own businesses, women who are dominating their career, and women who want to make a difference in the world and it inspired me.  I’m not even going to lie, I have big and bold dreams and it was so refreshing to be in a room filled with women who are pushing one another to go and grab that dream, no matter how impossible it may seem.  I found a community of women that empowers me, inspires me, and helps me to live the life I knew I was destined for.  It only feels right that I’m talking about this wonderful experience on International Women’s Day because trust me, the women I met this weekend are going to make waves in this world.

Here’s me in my NYC-esque all-black pantsuit trying to figure out how to pose in front of the motivational wall!

I left enlightened, calm, motivated, and smarter.  Now that I’ve gotten the chance to marinate all my learnings from the conference I’m going to keep hustling.  Man, I might even out hustle myself.  Things are a’brewing here on my site & YouTube channel… Stay tuned for a crazy 2017.
